Building Hudhud Maps. Previously Uber, Careem, Stream.

I grew up between the Nile and the Mediterranean. I build the data and AI behind products that tens of millions of people across MENA use every day. Right now that means Hudhud Maps, where I founded the Data & AI team and took the platform from a proof of concept to public launch in 12 months.

Before Hudhud, six years at Careem then Uber, building the data and ML infrastructure behind the region's super-app: the first big data platform, the ML platform (Yoda) that shipped millions of predictions daily, search ranking, and forecasting. Careem was acquired by Uber in 2019 for $3.1B. Then a stretch at Stream, powering chat, feeds, and video for 1+ billion end users, where I founded and sold AI Moderation.

I write occasionally here, and in Arabic at قصاصات علي الطريق.
